MREC Communication Campaign – 2. Update your cell number! (text notices)
In preparation for enabling text message notices when your critical deadlines approach for license renewal, E&O renewal, and CE completion, MREC has retooled our phone record display.
You will only receive MREC text notices if you have a cell number assigned in your license account, so log in through the MREC website and review your General Information tab now.
Your existing phone numbers have migrated to this new display, so if you had a cell number listed with MREC, you will see it displayed. If all is as desired, you need take no action.
Your privacy is protected. In your account’s publicly searchable view (website licensee search), only your Work Phone appears. If you want your cell phone number to appear as your Work Phone in the public view, enter your cell number into both the Cell Phone and Work Phone fields.
Check a box to indicate a “Primary” number. This is for MREC purposes only, to best reach out to you if needed. A primary number is required, as MREC must have a phone number for you.
MREC will not “spam” your phone. Only when an approaching deadline has become critical will MREC text you a warning, supplementing the email notices that you (and your principal broker) will have been receiving at your email address(es) of record.
Email is imperfect. Implementing text notices will advance the goal of eliminating missed license deadlines, saving you time and trouble, allowing you to focus on what you do best.
Establishing your cell number is the necessary groundwork prior to implementing text messaging, a priority project for us at MREC. When our texting program “goes live,” you will be notified.
Sincerely,
Bryan P. Lieb
MREC Executive Director

MREC Communication Campaign-1. Update your Email
Licensee, take action!
MREC will be increasing the frequency of emails reminding you of upcoming deadlines (license renewal, E&O, and CE) and other important matters, in order to both comply with amended statutes and as part of our new campaign to better notify licensees through an increased volume and added channels of communication (we plan to add text blasts for critical matters if plans come to fruition). Our goal is for you to never miss a deadline, avoiding the burdensome fallout to you and to us.
Help us serve you better by updating your email address on your MREC license account today (Log in at https://www.mrec.ms.gov/) – you are required to have an updated email on file with MREC! Verify your address and phone info while you’re there. Then put @mrec.state.ms.us on your safe-sender list, primary folder. Don’t have us go to your spam, promotions, or other seldom-viewed folders.
We hope you’ll be hearing from us soon!
